Franklinton, North Carolina is located approximately 30 miles northeast of the capital city Raleigh near the intersection of U.S. Highway 1 and N.C.Highway 56 in western Franklin County, not too far from many scenic lakes and rivers as well as the North Carolina major hiking route Mountains-to-Sea Trail. The town is a short drive from many locations within the Raleigh-Durham area. A historic community incorporated in 1842, Franklinton is governed by a Mayor and a five-member Board of Commissioners.
Although a relatively small town, numerous businesses have recently been built along U.S. Highway 1 as well as new subdivisions currently under construction within the area...bringing more involvement to our growing community. Franklinton is also known for its personal charm and a variety of special events.
