ABOUT THE FRANKLINTON AREA & THE CHAMBER
MISSION STATEMENT:

The mission of Franklinton Township Chamber of Commerce, Inc. shall be to sustain existing business
and promote further commercial and industrial economic growth while being a contributing member of
the Franklinton area by advancing a positive social and community image for the progress of all citizens.

Franklinton, North Carolina is located approximately 30 miles northeast of the
capital city Raleigh near the intersection of U.S. Highway 1 and N.C.Highway
56 in western Franklin County, not too far from many scenic lakes and rivers
as well as the North Carolina major hiking route Mountains-to-Sea Trail.  The
town is a short drive from many locations within the Raleigh-Durham area.  A
historic community incorporated in 1842, Franklinton is governed by a Mayor
and a five-member Board of Commissioners.  

Although a relatively small town, numerous businesses have recently been built
along U.S. Highway 1 as well as new subdivisions currently under construction
within the area...bringing more involvement to our growing community.  
Franklinton is also known for its personal charm and a variety of special events.

Franklinton Township also includes the nearby communities of Katesville, Mitchiners Crossroads, Needmore, Pocomoke and
Popes Crossroads.  We also provide information for the Brassfield and Wilton areas in Granville County.
Franklinton Township Chamber of Commerce, Inc. was incorporated in 1966,
and is a non-profit organization looking to entice the interest of the public to
our growing community and provide the necessary information for that interest
in order to further enhance the way of life for the Town of Franklinton and its
surrounding area.
